Research and scholarship have moved fully into the digital arena and the mechanisms involved in the publication and dissemination of works are evolving as well. Libraries are utilising new solutions to make access to content more seamless than ever for their customers, but is the role of the library at risk of becoming invisible to users? Altmetrics and other data and tools offer the potential for increased analysis and reporting on usage, value and impact of library collections. Whilst the landscape of libraries and publishers is changing, both players still have the shared objective of enhancing scholarly communication and access to research. This panel will examine how publishers and librarians can collaborate to reinforce the continuingly vital role of the institutional library, whilst ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our common stakeholder – the researcher. Panelists will consider how we can work together to build understanding of the value that both libraries and publishers contribute into the scholarly landscape. Takeaways will include case studies demonstrating ROI, examples of publisher-librarian partnerships and new ways to examine data/metrics to substantiate the value which solutions bring.
